Backstage Update – Konnan’s Status With Lucha Underground

According to sources, Konnan is still under contract with Lucha Underground, but hasn’t been used at all during the season two tapings.

The impression is that he won’t be used anytime soon. It had been noted that he was not written into the first two months of TV, but neither were other names (Mysterio and Matanza) and they were eventually written into the shows.

Konnan has been critical of the promotion in the past, specifically the overuse of men vs. women singles matches and Pentagon Jr’s clean loss to Sexy Star when being built like a bad ass. He was also against the promotion booking a Sexy Star vs. Super Fly mask vs. mask match with no build.
