It appears that King Barrett will reign no more once June has passed. Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that Barrett has informed WWE that he will not re-sign with the company when his current contract is up in June.
The site says that Barrett made the decision because he was “no longer enjoying what he was doing in the company.” Barrett has been signed to WWE since 2007 and debuted in winning fashion on NXT’s first season. He went on to lead the Nexus in their angle on the main roster and briefly feuded with John Cena, but after he lost that feud he never made it back to the upper spot on the card. Of course, there is still lots of time before his WWE contract expires so things could still change if he’s promised more such as a a big push, more money, etc.
No word on what Barrett will do after WWE.
