— The WWE Network is currently developing a new series titled “Behind the Curtain,” which would take a documentary-style look at different stories from pro wrestling history. Topics that may be covered include the plane crash Ric Flair was in, Bruiser Brody’s murder in Puerto Rico in 1987, and Gorgeous George’s career.
— WWE is planning to move forward with the “WWE Kids” show; they shot a pilot episode a few months back.
— Following his release late last week, Hornswoggle has discussed his suspension for violating the Wellness Policy last year and said it had nothing to do with a failed drug test. The former WWE star talked about the suspension on the Steve Austin Show this week and said that he was suspended because he was unable to provide a urine sample.
Swoggle, as he’s going by following his release, told Austin that he wasn’t able to provide a sample in the required two-hour period and that his suspension is “the only thing in 10 years [with WWE] that rubbed me the wrong way.” He noted that he asked the company to word the announcement of his suspension differently so that he wouldn’t come off sounding like a drug user but was unable to. He said, “I’ve never been a drug user, ever, in my career. Ever.”
Per the Wellness Policy, “Any delay beyond two (2) hours may be determined by the PA to be a refusal to test. During the two (2) hour period after the time of notification for testing, the WWE Talent must remain in the assigned testing area or be accompanied, at all times, by a person designated by the PA.”
