WWE Confirms Brand PPVs + John Cena Not Advertised for Backlash

— During Tuesday night’s SmackDown, Shane McMahon confirmed that SmackDown’s brand-specific PPVs begin with Backlash on September 11th in Richmond, Virginia.

— As of now, John Cena is not advertised for WWE Backlash. The PPV takes place on September 11th in Richmond, Virginia; right now Cena is advertised for the Shanghai house show the day before. Cena has been a big part of promoting the company’s expansion into China.

Of course, with almost a month and a half until Backlash there’s plenty of time to start advertising him for the show if the company decides to put him on the show, but for now it appears he may not be scheduled.
