WWE featured an angle for the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic at last night’s NXT house show in San Jose, California. Originally, Austin Aries and Roderick Strong were supposed to face TM-61. However, Aries could not perform due to his eye injury he suffered earlier this week.
NXT General Manager William Regal was there, and instead booked Strong vs. Shane Thorne, with the winner having his team advance in the tournament. Thorne ultimately defeated Strong, so TM-61 advanced. Also during the show, the Authors of Pain beat Rich Swann and No Way Jose to advance in the tournament. Here’s an updated look at the tournament brackets:

* TM-61 defeated Tino Sabbatelli and Riddick Moss
* Austin Aries and Roderick Strong defeated Otis Bogojevic and Tucker Knight
