Early indications are that Seth Rollins suffered a torn MCL in his right knee and may be out for eight weeks, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Exactly eight weeks from today would be March 30 and WrestleMania is on April 2, so that would obviously be cutting it close for his planned WrestleMania match with Triple H. Rollins would likely want to compete if he’s healthy enough, but WWE has also reportedly been very cautious with injuries lately for legal reasons, not wanting to rush wrestlers back into the ring too soon after injuries.
The eight week timeline has not been officially confirmed yet and seems to just be an early indication, but it doesn’t sound like it’s as bad as it could have been, obviously, with Rollins missing over six months after his last knee injury.
The original plan was to have Rollins feud with Samoa Joe and for the two to have a match at the Fastlane PPV, then have Rollins face Triple H at WrestleMania.
As mentioned, the injury happened when Samoa Joe took Rollins down for the Coquina Clutch and Rollins planted awkwardly on his knee.
