There were a few rumors around the internet last night that Jim Ross could end up as Impact Wrestling’s new announcer, but Ross is denying those rumors.
Speculation started after he tweeted this:
Good luck to all my friends working in #Orlando for @IMPACTWRESTLING.
Expecting many changes including perhaps a different soundtrack. ❓👀

There was also an angle at last night’s Impact tapings where Jeremy Borash feuded with Josh Matthews and Jim Ross’s name was brought up a few times. Matthews said that he trained under Jim Ross and Borash replied saying that JR is his friend and JR thinks Matthews “sucks.”
Jim Ross posted this today, though, when someone asked him if the rumors are true:
@JRsBBQ rumours are that you have signed with TNA?
Any truth to this?— Dan Shewell (@djs147) March 3, 2017
None whatsoever Dan.
The sites that are pushing that info are ill informed & looking for 'clicks.'
You fell for it. 👊 https://t.co/9nfFpC7oY4— Jim Ross (@JRsBBQ) March 3, 2017
One interesting note is that Dave Meltzer is reporting that Impact is saying that someone will be at Friday’s tapings who will become the “talk of the wrestling world.” Jim Ross would fit that description if he ended up on Impact, but I guess there isn’t really any reason to not believe him when he says it isn’t him.
