Matt and Jeff Hardy have begun “preliminary talks” with WWE, according to Pro Wrestling Sheet. No official deal has been made yet but apparently “things are looking good,” according to multiple sources.
Here’s a report from yesterday that has some more info:
The Hardys had originally planned to stay with TNA and had a verbal agreement in place back in December, but didn’t get an official contract offer until only a couple of weeks ago and the delay “spooked them” and they actually apparently began discussions with WWE, according to Dave Meltzer’s source.
The source also said that the Hardys had always planned to try to get back to WWE eventually and it seems like now would be as good a time as any, since they’re obviously currently hot and are “not getting any younger.”
One issue that may be cause for concern would be the WWE road schedule. TNA tapes several weeks of shows in a few days, so they would obviously be on the road a lot more with WWE (though they did also work indie dates often). They also both have infant children so would be away from their families more often and the physical toll would also be higher. There is a possibility that if they do end up in WWE, it might not be a long-term run.
