During yesterday’s conference with investors, WWE revealed the current plans for the upcoming women’s tournament is to hold the event during the third quarter of the year.
New details regarding the event from PWInsider state the WWE is currently planning on taping episode for the tournament this July with Full Sail University as the likely location. Unlike the Cruiserweight Classic, the WWE is planning on releasing all the episodes at once and not as a weekly series.
Similar to the Cruiserweight Classic, the tournament will have 32 competitors and emphasize the international aspect of the event. PWInsider stated the WWE is currently doing background checks for talent being contacted before offering contracts.
WWE is planning on holding the finals as a live event on the WWE Network on August 29. Whole event is expected to be between 8 to 10 episodes in length.
