One of Japan-based Stardom’s top stars has recently left the company to join the WWE, according to the Wrestling Observer.
The Observer’s Dave Meltzer stated Kairi Hojo had quietly signed a deal with the WWE in March and recently finished up her commitments to Stardom. She is currently expected to arrive at WWE’s Performance Center very soon. She is also expected to be among the women competing in WWE’s upcoming Women’s Tournament later this year.
Hojo made the announcement of her departure during today’s show for Stardom but didn’t mention the WWE as her next destination. Meltzer stated the reason was due to WWE’s newest policy forbidding talents to mention the company until the WWE makes an official announcement of the signing.
Besides Hojo, WWE is also interested in signing Stardom’s other top star Io Shirai to a deal although talks are still in the negotiating stage.
