NXT’s Tommaso Ciampa suffered an apparent injury to his ankle during an NXT house show in Highland Heights, KY last night, according to PWInsider.
#DIY was taking on Sanity and Ciampa appeared to land wrong and roll his ankle after a flying knee off the apron to the outside. Ciampa was unable to place any weight on the foot and the match was immediately stopped and he was sent to the back.
#DIY is set to take on The Authors of Pain in a ladder match for the NXT Tag Team Championships tomorrow at NXT TakeOver: Chicago. #DIY has consistently stolen the show at previous NXT TakeOvers, so it would obviously be pretty terrible if Ciampa has to miss the match.

Update:
Triple H said today at a WWE conference call that Ciampa suffered a sprained ankle but was moving around and feeling a lot better today and as of now, the match at NXT TakeOver is on. However, he added that it’s up to the medical team if Ciampa will officially be cleared by tomorrow. Triple H added that #DIY has a lot of history in Chicago and he’d hate for them to miss the match.
