As had been rumored, Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis showed up at the Money in the Bank PPV tonight, with Bennett being introduced as “Mike Kanellis,” taking his wife’s name.
Maria said that in her time away from WWE, she had been searching for the perfect partner and finally found him in Mike and that they would educate everyone on SmackDown about the power of love.
The gimmick seems really great to me but the crowd started with their annoying “what” chants at the end of Maria’s promo, which is troubling.
Bennett and Kanellis were last in Impact Wrestling, but decided not to renew their contracts earlier this year, instead signing with WWE. Maria was with WWE from 2004-2010.
