Chris Jericho wrestled in WWE’s two live shows in Tokyo, Japan on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, he defeated Hideo Itami with the Walls of Jericho and on Saturday, he lost to Finn Balor via the Coup de Grace.
WWE posted a video of Jericho following last night’s show, where he talks about not being able to pass up and opportunity to come to Japan, but also says that he’s going to go back to focusing on music for a while and the brief Japan tour was his “last hurrah for WWE for this time” and he was going to “take off the boots and go back to music for a while knowing I left on a really high note.”
I took the whole year, 2016, away from Fozzy to come to WWE. Had a great time, one of the best runs of my career. And it was time to go back to the band and focus on music for a while. So this was kind of like the last hurrah for WWE for this time, this run, but once again, I can’t pass up a trip to Japan because I love Japan so much. But it was a job well done and I feel like I can take the boots and go back to music for a while knowing I left on a really high note.
