Besides the Hardy Boys, Ring of Honor was also reported to be currently upset at Global Force Wrestling and Anthem in regards to the on-going “Broken” gimmick situation, according to this Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
The Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported ROH has been asking for answers to why they were forced to shelve plans involving a potentially long feud between the Young Bucks and Hardy Boys even without the use of the “Broken” gimmick. At the time, the Hardy’s had deals with both ROH and Impact/GFW and this feud would have included Impact being involved. ROH allowing Impact to use the feud and Young Bucks appear on their show likely was ROH’s way of trying to get some rights to use the Broken gimmick for their own TV shows.
Similar to the Hardy’s situation, the main issue appears to be Anthem’s Ed Nordholm and him being unwilling to provide a direct answer to ROH. Nordholm would only imply the plans couldn’t be done due to Matt Hardy not signing a deal for the “Broken” gimmick. This was prior to the Hardy’s signing a deal with the WWE although without the use of the “Broken” gimmick.
