The finish of the Universal Championship match at SummerSlam is being kept very secret, with almost no one knowing what the result will be yet, according to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
The word is that nobody on the WWE writing team, no producers, and no participants (except for Lesnar) will know what the finish of the match will be until the last minute. Brock Lesnar’s WWE deal apparently has a clause that allows him to know WWE’s plans for him in advance.
It was also rumored that Paul Heyman has advocated behind the scenes for Samoa Joe to win the title at SummerSlam, which could indicate that Paul Heyman may know that Lesnar will be dropping the title, since Lesnar likely knows the outcome and he and Heyman are actually close “in real life.”
