(There are spoilers for the Mae Young Classic tournament in this post)
WWE is planning a “Four Horsewomen vs. Four Horsewomen” angle at some point in the future, involving the WWE Four Horsewomen (Bayley, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks) and MMA Four Horsewomen (Shayna Baszler, Ronda Rousey, Marina Shafir, Jessamyn Duke).
During the Mae Young Classic tapings last month, WWE had the women in attendance at ringside (minus Sasha, who was doing promotion in Australia) and did an angle where Shayna Baszler (who is wrestling in the tournament), “talked trash” to the WWE women at ringside.
WWE is expected to likely do another angle at the Mae Young Classic live finals on September 12.
There have been rumors that Ronda Rousey has been training with Brian Kendrick, and Jessamyn Duke has also been confirmed to be training with Kendrick.
Bayley is currently injured, of course, and is out for a still undetermined amount of time, but according to Dave Meltzer, the planned angle (or match) would likely take place in November at the earliest, or possibly even as far down as WrestleMania.
Kairi Sane / Shayna Baszler
Mae Young Classic finalists Kairi Sane and Shayna Baszler worked against each other in a 6-person tag match at an NXT live show in St. Petersburg, FL yesterday. They will likely work against each other a few more times in preparation for their live match on September 12.
At the show, Kairi Sane, Dakota Kai and Aliyah defeated Shayna Bazler, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce
