The Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame located in Wichita Falls, Texas is currently under investigation for embezzlement by local police, according to this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported police got involved after recent discrepancies were discovered in the Hall’s financial records leading to the resignation of several board members. The resignation of board members occurred on August 28th while local police got involved on October 4th after an embezzlement complaint was filed.
During investigations, police discovered the Hall’s bank account had been significantly overdrawn and included several questionable expenses made without the board’s approval nor awareness. When asked about the situation, the Hall’s current president, John Lusk (Cowboy John Mantell in AWA and NWA), stated they are currently dealing with internal problems and was unwilling to give any more details to reporters.
