Kevin Nash was recently on X-Pac’s “X-Pac 12360” show and talked about the Young Bucks situation, with WWE threatening to sue the Young Bucks if they continued to use the “Too Sweet” gesture. Nash (and X-Pac), of course, made the gesture famous. Unfortunately, though WWE’s claim to the gesture (a movement of the human body) is possibly spurious, it’s not worth it for the Young Bucks to get into a legal battle with WWE, so they have stopped using the gesture.
Nash: “It’s our inside hand gesture. If they want to call it ‘too sweet,’ that’s fine. But to me, it’s like really? I’m sure somebody threw up the peace sign for the first time. Are you going to get intellectual fucking rights on that?”
X-Pac: “I honestly don’t think they would have heard anything about it if it wasn’t for their invasion thing.”
Nash: “I don’t know man. Keeps us alive.”
X-Pac: “Yes. That’s what I said last week. People need to look at it from the other point of view. Now there’s a whole new generation of young people that know about us and… I just think that they made it fresh again. Or I think they helped it.”
Nash: “If you’re a member of the Rolling Stones and Pearl Jam wants to cover ‘Satisfaction,’ I don’t think I got a problem with it. It would be one thing if the guys were jabronis. These are like the young, talented guys that are basically emulating things that we did.”
