Rumors of a Hulk Hogan return to WWE have been heating up, with reports that WWE has had recent talks with Hogan and Hogan attending a WWE/HBO event tonight at the Andre the Giant documentary premiere.
However, WWE threw some cold water on the rumors, releasing this statement to Dave Meltzer:
“Hulk Hogan is an important part of Andre the Giant’s history, however his appearance at tonight’s HBO premiere of the documentary and his plans to help others learn from his mistakes does not mean WWE is rehiring him. Hogan is not scheduled to be at any upcoming WWE events.”
Hogan was invited to the premiere by HBO and not WWE, according to Meltzer. So it doesn’t appear that Hogan’s return is imminent, but that doesn’t mean that it won’t eventually happen.
Hogan was also “interviewed” by TMZ and was asked if he would be at WrestleMania. Hogan said, “No sir, no WrestleMania.” When asked if he would return to WWE, he said, “Maybe some day, brother.”
