NXT TakeOvers are permanently being moved up one hour to a 7 PM ET start time, according to Dave Meltzer.
There’s no word on if this will be the case with TakeOver: Brooklyn on August 18, but it will “definitely” be the case for TakeOver: Los Angeles on November 17 and then for future events going forward, Dave Meltzer says.
Meltzer says that he was told that “the idea isn’t longer shows, but that’s probably what will end up happening.”
NXT TakeOvers were previously just over two hours, then lengthened to two hours and thirty minutes. With the new start time, the directive will reportedly be to keep the show under three hours. TakeOvers have traditionally had five matches, so this could mean that we’ll see a sixth match added to the shows going forward.
