Brock Lesnar has officially re-entered the USADA drug testing pool and will be eligible to fight again on January 8, 2019, the USADA told MMA Fighting.
A USADA statement said, “After receiving notice of his intent to compete in the UFC, USADA re-entered Brock Lesnar to the testing pool on July 3. With six months and four days remaining on his period of ineligibility, Lesnar will be able to compete on or after January 8, 2019, should he remain in compliance with the UFC Anti-Doping Policy.”
Lesnar currently has just over six months left on his USADA suspension from 2016, where he tested positive for the banned clomiphene around his UFC 200 fight against Mark Hunt. Lesnar “retired” from the UFC in December 2016, which froze his suspension with about six months left.
Lesnar is expected to fight UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier once he returns. That fight was set up on Saturday at UFC 226, when Lesnar and Cormier challenged each other after Cormier’s win over Stipe Miocic.
