Rey Mysterio will be returning to NJPW for their G1 Climax 28 finals show on August 12 in Budokan Hall in Tokyo, Japan, NJPW announced. His opponent wasn’t announced.
Mysterio wrestled at NJPW’s Dominion show on June 9, teaming with Jushin Liger and Hiroshi Tanahashi in a six man tag match against Cody Rhodes, Hangman Page & Marty Scurll. Cody’s team won, with Cody pinning Liger.
As mentioned, Mysterio is still in talks with WWE, with the sticking point reportedly being that he wants to complete his scheduled bookings – namely September 1’s All In event, which WWE wants him to pull out of.
