Ring of Honor has reportedly “sent out feelers” to CM Punk about him possibly returning at one of their shows, according to Dave Meltzer. It would presumably be at ROH/NJPW’s big show at Madison Square Garden during WrestleMania weekend next year.
However, Meltzer says that it’s a long shot. But there’s no harm in trying.
CM Punk has been adamant that he is totally done with pro wrestling, saying in an interview last month, “I’m done, I’m done, I’m done with professional wrestling.”
“I’m done, I’m done, I’m done with professional wrestling. A lot of people like to be mad at me about that and make fun of me because I lost my first fight. And it’s like, that’s fine. You’re entitled to your opinion. But you do not own me, and I am entitled to do what I want to do. And that’s what I’m doing.
Wrestling is in the rearview mirror. I’ve been trying for five years to put wrestling in the rearview mirror. And some people…they won’t let it go. They, I don’t know, want to live my life for me. I kind of don’t understand that. But it doesn’t matter what I say. I’ve said ‘no, no, no, no’ so many times that people just always kind of be like, ‘oh, so there’s a chance.’”
