WWE Network Hidden Gems Addition

This week’s addition to WWE Network’s Hidden Gems series was revealed to be Hispanic Heritage month themed, featuring four classic matches.

The first gem is from a September 23, 1996 episode of WCW Nitro featuring a Cruiserweight Championship match of Super Calo versus champion Rey Mysterio Jr.

Nitro 09/23/1996 – Lucha Legend

Rey Mysterio puts his WCW Cruiserweight Championship on the line against fellow luchador Super Calo in this rarely seen match from Nitro.

The second gem is from an August 28, 1987 WWF event featuring a tag team match of Tito Santana & Mil Mascaras versus Demolition.

WWE 08/28/1987 – Demolishing the Competition

WWE Hall of Famers unite when Tito Santana teams with the legendary Mil Mascaras to take on the tough tandem of Demolition.

The third gem is from a March 15, 1971 WWWF Madison Square Garden event featuring a WWWF World Championship match of Blackjack Mulligan versus champion Pedro Morales.

The beloved Pedro Morales defends championship gold against WWE Hall of Famer Blackjack Mulligan as their rivalry reaches a fever pitch.

The fourth and final gem is from an August 26, 1952 Dallas Wrestling event featuring a 2-Out-of-3 Falls match of Rito Romero versus Danny Savich.

Mexican legend Rito Romero battles Danny Savich in a 2-Out-of-3 Falls Match from the famed Sportatorium in Dallas, TX.

Allysin Kay Comments on Her WWE Debut and Mae Young Classic Match

Allysin Kay reflected on Twitter about her debut in WWE and competing in this year’s Mae Young Classic tournament.

Northeast Wrestling announced that the card of their November 9th NEW 23rd Anniversary event in Poughkeepsie, New York features a singles match of Kenny Omega versus Rey Fenix.

Major League Wrestling announced a new match for the card of their October 4th MLW Fury Road event in Queens, New York. This was revealed to be a singles match of Shane Strickland versus Tom Lawlor.

Over the Top Wrestling announced a new match for the card of their October 13th Fourth Year Anniversary event in Dublin, Ireland. This was revealed to be a Five-Way match of Rocky Romero versus Gino Gambino versus LJ Cleary versus Paddy M versus TBA competitor.
