Lars Sullivan was scheduled to face John Cena at WrestleMania, according to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Signs pointed to the Sullivan and Cena program getting started as early as the Royal Rumble, Meltzer added. Cena will be part of the Royal Rumble match.
Sullivan was actually scheduled to make his main roster debut in a dark match before Monday’s Raw, but he either didn’t show up to the arena, or he did and left the building due to what was believed to be an anxiety attack, Meltzer said. The WWE office talked with him and worked things out and everything was fine and he was then supposed to wrestle a dark match the next night at the SmackDown tapings in Jacksonville. But he wasn’t at the arena again and apparently flew back home to Colorado.
At this point, nothing else is known about the situation and it’s not known if WWE will change their plans. With the Mauro Ranallo depression situation, WWE has been more understanding of mental health issues.
Sullivan was reportedly set for a “monster push.” His first big feud and match being against John Cena at WrestleMania obviously indicates that they have big plans for him.
