The Rock Was Originally Supposed to Host the Oscars

The Rock tweeted that he was the first choice to host the Academy Awards this year and though he “tried hard” to make it work, he ultimately couldn’t do it because he’ll be shooting another Jumanji movie.

Kevin Hart was announced as the host of the Oscars, but he pulled out after backlash to old tweets and there will be no actual host this year.
