The Los Angeles metropolitan area is the front-runner to host WrestleMania 37 in 2021, according to a story by the LA Times, which cites “multiple sources.”
According to the story, WrestleMania 37 will likely take place in Los Angeles Stadium in Inglewood, California, just outside of LA. The stadium is still under construction and is scheduled to open in 2020. It will be the home stadium of both the LA Rams and LA Chargers. Its capacity will be 80,240, but it will be expandable to 100,240.
Los Angeles previously hosted WrestleMania 2, 7 and 21.
Kathy Schloessman, president of the Los Angeles Sports and Entertainment Commission had this to say: “We know the power of the WWE brand. They have hosted several events here in the past such as Summer Slam, Survivor Series, Raw and SmackDown and we have seen the tremendous impact these events have in the community, both economically and socially. Given our focus on attracting major sporting and entertainment events to Los Angeles, WrestleMania is at the top of our list of events we want here.”
WrestleMania 36 next year will take place in Tampa, Florida at Raymond James Stadium.
