A partnership between AEW and New Japan has “zero chance of happening,” according to the Young Bucks’ Nick Jackson.
Jackson posted this on Twitter when asked about the possibility:
Not happening.

It’s really not happening. Been asked this thousands of times and telling the truth is always best. Don’t want fans holding onto something that has zero chance of happening.

Obviously, things can always change in the future, but it doesn’t look like there will be any AEW/NJPW dream matches anytime soon.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, both AEW and NJPW have “emphatically” denied that there is anything going on in the direction of a working relationship between the companies.
Kenny Omega’s entrance video on this past Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite featured a character representing NJPW, which caused some speculation about a potential partnership, but the video was actually meant to represent the opposite, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. In the video, the “NJPW” character told Kenny Omega that all his friends would soon go away like Kota Ibushi did, and told him to “join us and your pain will end.” “NJPW” was then told to “stick a sock in it” in the video.
