As noted before, this past week’s episodes of AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT both saw viewership increases and the smallest overall gap between both shows since the start of their head-to-head competition. AEW Dynamite drew 822,000 viewers on TNT and a #8 ranking in 18-49 demographic while NXT drew 813,000 viewers on USA Network and a #12 ranking in 18-49 demographic.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that AEW Dynamite started off with around 976,000 viewers and dropped to as low as 698,000 viewers during the Brandi video segment and Shawn Spears vs. Brandon Cutler match. AEW’s biggest gain of the night was the Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega video segment and the beginning of the Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara vs. Omega & Adam Page tag team match which gained 40,000 viewers. AEW’s biggest decline of the night was the Private Party vs. Dark Order tag team match which lost 150,000 viewers.
Meltzer also reported that NXT started off with around 819,000 viewers and dropped to as low as 769,000 viewers during the Tony Nese vs. Angel Garza match. NXT’s biggest gain of the night was the Matt Riddle, Keith Lee, and Tommaso Ciampa vs. The O.C. tag team match which gained 23,000 viewers. NXT’s biggest decline of the night was the Dakota Kai vs. Shanya Baszler post-match brawl and the Ciampa, Lee, and Riddle interview segment which lost 26,000 viewers. In regards to NXT’s over-run, the show gained an additional 190,000 viewers to end the night.
In regards to Canadian viewership, AEW Dynamite drew 109,100 viewers on TSN 2 while NXT did not rank in the Top 10 for sports programming. Neither the October 30th episode of Dynamite nor the November 1st airing of NXT ranked in the Top 10 for sports programming for their respective nights.
