Johnny Gargano has a neck injury, which will force him to miss NXT TakeOver: WarGames on November 23. Though he didn’t have a match officially scheduled yet, he was set to face Finn Balor.
The news was first announced on tonight’s episode of WWE Backstage by Ryan Satin.
The severity of the neck injury and how much time he could miss is not known right now.
He last appeared on NXT TV three weeks ago when Finn Balor attacked him to turn heel.
His last match was on the October 2 NXT episode, which was a win over Shane Thorne. Other than that, Gargano has only wrestled in five matches since April, with three of those being NXT TakeOvers. That could mean that he’s been dealing with a lingering injury.
