Following an absence of several months from WWE TV, Matt Hardy has wrestled in two matches on Raw in the past few weeks, essentially being used as an “enhancement wrestler,” losing in under three minutes to Buddy Murphy and Drew McIntyre.
Hardy’s WWE contract expires in February 2020 and he’s been in negotiations for a new one, with the main “sticking point” being how he’ll be used creatively going forward, according to PWInsider. Hardy has been releasing videos on YouTube recently using his “Broken Matt Hardy” persona, while he’s been “Team Xtreme” Matt Hardy on Raw recently.
After his ~two minute loss to Drew McIntyre on Raw on Monday, Matt liked several tweets from fans on Twitter about how it’s frustrating to watch Matt being “wasted” and how he “deserves better.”
Today, Matt tweeted that he’s “at peace.”
I needed to return to @WWE to finish in the right way. I didn’t want 2010 to be my finale. I returned in the most EPIC way & repaid my debt. I waved the #WWE flag with pride & worked hard to be a model employee. My conscience is clear & I am at peace. pic.twitter.com/EpT1gjNZNT

But his wife Reby Hardy doesn’t seem to be as OK with how WWE is using Matt…
Repaid your debt but they’ll still rub it in your face every chance they get 🙃 that’s ok, we don’t pretend the less than perfect shit never happened here ☕️ https://t.co/CoFcu4BeSu
