With NXT airing a highlight and awards show on Tuesday, AEW Dynamite was decisively on top this week with a strong number despite tough competition from big college football games.
AEW Dynamite drew 967,000 viewers on TNT, up from 683,000 viewers two weeks ago. There was no show last week on Christmas.
NXT drew 548,000 viewers on USA, down from last week’s 831,000 viewers.
AEW was #13 for the day on cable in the 18-49 demographic with a 0.36 rating, while NXT was #66 with a 0.15 rating.
The college football Rose Bowl game, which aired until about 8:45 PM ET, drew 15,698,000 viewers on ESPN and the Sugar Bowl, which started at 9, drew 9,915,000.
