CM Punk Officially Joins Nexus, NWA Tapings, & More

— CM Punk made his live event debut as a member of The Nexus at last night’s RAW house show in August, Georgia. With assistance from his new allies, he defeated Mark Henry in a singles match. The faction continued beating Henry down following the match until some babyface RAW Superstars made the save.

— The NWA will be filming four TV episodes for Championship Wrestling from Hollywood this afternoon at the Regent Showcase Theater in Hollywood, CA. Scheduled is an NWA World Title match with Adam Pearce defending against Joey Ryan. Other main events scheduled are Austin Aries vs. Scorpio Sky, NWA Heritage tag champions Natural Selection in action, and a 20-man Valentine’s Day Battle Royal to earn a future NWA World Title match.

— WWE has house shows in Montgomery, AL and Lexington, KY today. The full weekend tour schedule is below.

Last night in Augusta, GA, Randy Orton replaced an injured John Cena in the main event. Also, Smackdown’s Alberto Del Rio was on the undercard.

WWE is advertising World Champion Edge vs. Kane in a “Fan’s Choice” contest for the Lexington Smackdown show, with stip choices being Street Fight or two-out-of-three falls match. Also advertised is Big Show vs. Wade Barrett in a “Smackdown vs. Raw Challenge.”
