WWE officials held a meeting with NXT talent at the WWE Performance Center following last month’s Royal Rumble event and one of the topics discussed included NXT talent being told to not call out main roster talent on social media without their prior knowledge or approval. This meeting likely was held in response to the Matt Riddle and Brock Lesnar backstage altercation at last month’s Royal Rumble event.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported that a second meeting with NXT talent was held last Wednesday prior to NXT’s television tapings revolving around WWE’s displeasure of the details of the first meeting being leaked to the “dirt sheets.” WWE officials reportedly told NXT talent to stop discussing company matters to the “dirt sheets” and forbade talent from talking to non-approved media outlets.
Sapp reported that the likely motivation for talent refusing to follow WWE’s orders was issues with the lack of health insurance coverage provided by the company and their unwillingness to address the over-crowding issue at the Performance Center.
