WWE announced on Wednesday that they currently do not have any plans to cancel nor postpone WrestleMania 36 and its festivities in Tampa, Florida despite growing global concerns over the coronavirus outbreak.

The health and safety of our fans, performers and employees are our top priorities and we are monitoring the situation closely with our partners and government officials in Tampa Ba. We remain committed to hosting WrestleMania at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday, April 5, and like other entertainment properties in the U.S., there are currently no plans to cancel or postpone our upcoming events.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently stated that at least two people have tested positive for the coronavirus in the Tampa area and they are currently monitoring hundreds of others for possible signs of the disease.
The CDC and local government officials’ main concern is the potential for the disease to spread even more due to the large amount of travelers from around the world expected to visit the Tampa area for WrestleMania 36 and indie wrestling events in early April.
WWE reportedly held a meeting with talent prior to the start of Monday’s episode of RAW in Brooklyn, New York to discuss coronavirus concerns, according to PWInsider. It was reported that this meeting was to inform talent of the latest available official information regarding the outbreak and safety tips for talent to protect themselves while on the road.
