Tonight on Dynamite, AEW announced the rules for their upcoming “Blood & Guts” (WarGames) match that will take place on March 25 in Newark, NJ between The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, Jake Hager, Santana & Ortiz) and The Elite (Cody, Kenny Omega, Hangman Page & The Young Bucks).
The rules will essentially be the same as the original WarGames match, where you must win by submission or surrender (though in the original you could also win by knocking an opponent unconscious). There will be no pinfalls, unlike the NXT and WCW versions.
There will be a roof on the cage, unlike NXT’s open-cage version.
The rules:
– Two men enter the cage for one five minute round
– Every two minutes, another participant will enter. The team that has the first entrant advantage will be determined next week on Dynamite in a six man tag match between the Elite and the Inner Circle, with the participants yet to be announced.
– The match officially begins when all 10 men have entered the cage
– The winning team is determined by making any opponent submit or surrender
