Last night, WWE announced that WrestleMania 36 will take place over two nights for the first time ever: on Saturday, April 4 and Sunday, April 5, starting at 7 PM ET each night.
WWE announced earlier this week that WrestleMania will take place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, but according to several reports, some matches will take place in other closed-set locations.
“From what I understand, most of the stuff will be at the Performance Center, but there will be gimmick matches shot in other places,” Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio.
Multiple locations, along with splitting the show into two nights, will also allow WWE to keep a minimum amount of people on location at once amidst the coronavirus.
There’s no word on where the other sets will be yet, and WWE hasn’t officially said that WrestleMania will be anywhere other than the Performance Center. PWInsider speculated on some possible locations, including WWE headquarters in Stamford, CT, or a “3D suite” that is set up in the Performance Center, which allows for matches in front of a 360 degree computer generated background. WWE’s TV partners FOX and NBC Universal could also possibly help WWE with locations, including maybe sound stages in Universal Studios in Orlando, PWInsider speculated.
