As noted before, Rey Mysterio has been working for WWE without an actual contract for the past several weeks. Negotiations between Mysterio and WWE for a new deal reportedly hit an impasse a few weeks ago due to monetary reasons, with Mysterio asking for a raise while Vince McMahon was not willing to offer one.
Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the last he heard from his sources, talks between both sides have been positive and a deal is very close to being made. Meltzer also reported that McMahon and Mysterio are currently expected to meet again soon to try and finalize a new deal.
