WWE has reportedly been looking into outdoor locations where a limited number of fans will be allowed for the August 23 SummerSlam PPV.
WrestleVotes reported that WWE officials have been looking into various possible outdoor venues in the north east US, where the coronavirus pandemic has been relatively under control, but as of a couple of days ago, were having trouble finding states that were interested in allowing that to happen.
Today, WrestleVotes tweeted, “Never. Say. Never… 😉”
They also say that on Friday, WWE officials met to discuss their SummerSlam plans, with “desperation to land a location outside of the [Performance Center] coming from the top.”
WWE has looked into hosting SummerSlam within the Northeast at an outdoor location w/ limited fans, and as of now, have found no interested states in allowing that to happen.

Source: those in power at WWE are meeting today to discuss and hopefully finalize SummerSlam plans, including location. As noted before, the desperation to land a location outside of the PC is coming from the top. It’s not as easy as they had hoped.
