WWE recently announced that this year’s WrestleMania will be held on April 10-11 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. This will be the second year in a row that WWE will hold a WrestleMania over the course of two days.
In regards to ticket plans for WrestleMania 37, Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that as of earlier this week, WWE officials were planning on having an attendance limit of around 30,000 fans per show. This is higher than the amount previously reported by WrestleVotes, which was around 25,000 per show. This would also be higher than the 16,000 that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been allowing this season for home games at the stadium.
In regards to WWE’s current plans for the event itself, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and Ringside News reported that there are no concrete plans currently in place for the event’s card.
The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that the reason for the lack of direction on WWE television for WrestleMania 37’s top matches is due to WWE officials having yet to make any real decisions for those matches. WWE officials reportedly are currently considering two possible opponents for Roman Reigns’ Universal Championship with one being Daniel Bryan and the other not being Shinsuke Nakamura. In regards to the top RAW championship matches at the event, WWE officials reportedly have not made any decisions regarding potential opponents and match-ups.
Ringside News reported that another reason for the lack of direction for WrestleMania 37 is due to Vince McMahon being very secretive with his big plans for the event. It was reported that one WWE writer spoken to stated that McMahon has been unwilling to discuss his big plans with anyone else in Creative and ordered Bruce Prichard to ensure no information trickles down that could be leaked. It was also reported that another reason is due to his current lack of respect for WWE’s creative staff, which was stated to be an on-going issue in the company.
