NXT shot a pilot episode for a new NXT show tentatively titled “NXT EVOLVE,” according to Fightful Select.
Back in December, it was reported that WWE was working on a potential new NXT brand and show, which would focus primarily on WWE’s developmental talent and would act as a “minor league” system for the main NXT brand.
The potential new brand is reportedly being run by former EVOLVE head Gabe Sapolsky, and Jeremy Borash.
WWE bought EVOLVE in July and has signed several former EVOLVE wrestlers since, who would presumably be featured on the show.
Just a pilot has been shot for now, so it may not be a guarantee that the show will fully come to fruition.
Fightful says that the pilot was shot at a warehouse in Florida and has more of a “fight” feel to it. Graphics and a belt have already been created with the “NXT EVOLVE” branding.
