At least a couple of controversial moments have been edited out of old WWE shows on Peacock, which were previously left uncensored on the WWE Network.
One segment that has been cut is when Vince McMahon infamously calls John Cena “my [n word]” in a backstage segment on the 2005 Survivor Series, and Booker T says, “Tell me he did not just say that.”
Another that has been cut is the match between Roddy Piper and Bad News Brown at WrestleMania 6 and Piper’s promo earlier in the show. During the promo and match, and throughout much of the feud, Piper painted half of his face and body black. Earlier in the feud, Bad News Brown told Piper during a promo, “I know you and your kind like to look like me, so why don’t you switch off down to the beach here and get yourself a little sun tan, maybe look a little better.” Piper ran with that and began to wear half black face, saying, “I can be black, I can be white, don’t make no difference to me. It’s what’s inside ya. He made it this big issue. It’s what’s inside ya.”
Peacock has only added Raw episodes as far back as 2008 for now and SmackDown from 2019 on, so nothing from the “Attitude era” is up yet (or anything from ECW). Presumably, we could see some more editing…
