Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE officials currently are planning for each night of WrestleMania 37 on April 10th and 11th to be around three and a half hours to four hours in length. For some comparisons, last year’s WrestleMania 36 two-night event was around three hours and fifteen minutes for Night 1 and around three hours for Night 2.
In regards to the Universal Championship match at Night 2 of WrestleMania 37, Meltzer reported that this match is currently expected to be officially announced as a Triple Threat match following tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown. The reason for the change in plans is due to Vince McMahon wanting to shake up the plans for WrestleMania these past few weeks. Meltzer also reported that some WWE officials also felt that fans would cheer for Reigns over Edge had it remained a singles match. WWE officials also reportedly had considered several new ideas for the Universal title match, most of them being “bad,” before deciding upon adding Daniel Bryan to the match as the big face star.
In regards to ticket sales for the event, Meltzer reported that as of press time, 1,203 tickets remained for sale for Night 1 and 864 for Night 2. Following the intital pre-sale, WWE had around 1,300 to 1,400 for each night meaning very few tickets were sold this past week. Meltzer also reported that there have been recent rumors that WWE put out a lower amount of tickets for sale than their stated amount of 25,000 for each night.
