Dabba-Kato is reportedly getting a “new direction and makeover” before his return to WWE TV, according to PWInsider.
It’s not clear yet what he’ll look like, but his new name will be “Commodore Azeez” (or Azez – the spelling isn’t clear), PWInsider says. Commodore is a rank used in many navies, so that might be a hint for what his gimmick could be.
Dabba-Kato last appeared on the September 21 Raw, losing to Braun Strowman on Raw Underground. He was drafted to Raw in the WWE draft in October, but hasn’t appeared on TV since.
Update
Dabba-Kato appeared on WrestleMania tonight in the Big E vs. Apollo Crews match. After Big E hit Crews with the Big Ending, Dabba-Kato ran in and attacked Big E, gave him a chokeslam, then put Crews on Big E to give Crews the win and the Intercontinental Championship.
Afterwards, he celebrated with his new ally, Crews.
His father is Nigerian (his mother is Polish), so that would explain the connection with Crews. His real name is Babatunde Łukasz Aiyegbusi.
WWE filed a trademark for “Commander Azeez” last week, so that looks like it’ll probably be his name. The announce team did not mention him by name at all, pretending like they’ve never seen him before and just calling him a “monster.”
