As noted before, WarnerMedia announced earlier this week that AEW’s Dynamite series will be moving to TBS next year. WarnerMedia also announced that a new weekly series called AEW Rampage will debut this August and four quarterly AEW television specials will air on TNT starting next year.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that AEW’s new deal with WarnerMedia for Dynamite’s move to TBS and additional new content is currently believed to not be an extension of their current television contract, which is set to expire in 2023.
Meltzer also reported that the current plan is for AEW Rampage to be taped on Wednesdays with the exception of weeks that feature a pay-per-view event. For pay-per-view event weeks, AEW reportedly will be taping Rampage live on Friday nights.
In regards to the taping status of AEW Dark and Dark Elevation, Meltzer reported that the current plan is to primarily tape all of AEW’s weekly shows on Wednesdays with some weeks being split into Wednesday tapings and Friday tapings.
In regards to the first quarterly television special on TNT, Meltzer reported that AEW and TNT officials are still working on plans for the date of the first television special.
