This year’s WWE SummerSlam PPV may take place on a Saturday, according to various reports.
The Mat Men Wrestling Podcast says that the show will take place on Saturday, August 21, “according to a very reliable source.”
According to a very reliable source SummerSlam will take place on Saturday 8/21 in Vegas.

They also say that the show will take place in the Las Vegas area, as previously rumored.
Sports Business Journal also reported that WWE is looking at NFL stadiums in a few different markets for SummerSlam, including Allegiant Stadium in the Vegas area, SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA, NRG Stadium in Houston, MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ and Nissan Stadium in Nashville.
A big boxing match between Manny Pacquiao and Errol Spence Jr. is currently scheduled for Saturday, August 21 in Las Vegas, which is the same rumored night and location of SummerSlam, strangely. Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas has also been rumored as a venue for the boxing match, but no venue has officially been announced yet. That may be why WWE is looking at other possible stadiums for the show.
WrestleVotes added that Saturday, August 21 is the current plan, but later said that with the Pacquiao fight, which was just officially announced last week, the date may still change.
The rumors of SummerSlam from Las Vegas taking place outside of a Sunday are correct according to a source. Hearing that internally the show is listed for Saturday night 8/21. Credit to @AndrewZarian for the initial date tweet.

Update: 8/21 is currently “provisional” according to a source. Pacquiao fight wasn’t official until 5/21, no updates since on document being circulated. 8/22 & Sat 8/7 shown as “holds”. WWE’s preference is SAT. However being honest, I’m not entirely sure where it stand as of now.
