AEW reportedly is currently considering plans for Jon Moxley to face a top star from New Japan Pro Wrestling in a match at All Out 2021 this September, according to the Wrestling Observer.
Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that Moxley recently held a talk with AEW CEO Tony Khan pitching the idea of him potentially facing a top star from NJPW for his match at AEW’s All Out 2021 event on September 5th in Chicago, Illinois.
Meltzer reported that while the identity of Moxley’s opponent is currently not known, it is likely that Hiroshi Tanahashi could be the opponent in mind based on Moxley’s promo from this past Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite. Meltzer speculated that Minoru Suzuki could also be another potential opponent for Moxley.
Meltzer also reported that it is unlikely Kazuchika Okada or Shingo Takagi would be possible options due to travel and schedule conflict issues with NJPW’s upcoming Wrestle Grand Slam 2021 events in Saitama, Japan.
