Kenny Omega will no longer be facing Hangman Adam Page for the AEW World Championship at All Out next month, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
The Observer says that the match was planned for the PPV at one point, but plans change.
On Wednesday’s Dynamite, Page and the Dark Order lost a match to the Elite, with the stipulation that if they lost, Page wouldn’t get a title shot against Omega and the Dark Order wouldn’t get a Tag Team title shot.
It’s unclear now who will face Omega for the title at the PPV instead. In AEW’s latest rankings, Page was #1, Jungle Boy was #2 and Christian Cage was #3. Jungle Boy already recently got a title shot, so it’s not likely to be him. AEW commentators did bring up that Christian is ranked #3 and could be in line for a title shot, and AEW did have Christian face off with Omega in a segment a couple of months ago, which hasn’t led to anything yet.
It’s possible that the rumored signings of CM Punk and Daniel Bryan had something to do with AEW changing their World title plans.
All Out will take place on Sunday, September 5.
