WWE reportedly had big plans for legendary boxer Mike Tyson to be involved in this Saturday’s SummerSlam event in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to PWInsider.
Mike Johnson reported that WWE officials had plans at one point for Tyson to do voiceover work for the event’s opening video package, which would have been built around the upcoming Universal Championship match of John Cena vs. Roman Reigns.
Johnson reported that those plans were eventually dropped due to both sides being unable to agree to a deal. Johnson also reported that it is currently not known who will be providing the voice work for SummerSlam’s opening video package as Tyson’s replacement.
Tyson’s most recent appearance in wrestling was at the April 14th episode of AEW Dynamite which featured him as the special enforcer for the Chris Jericho vs. Dax Harwood match.
