WWE & MGM Partnering for American Gladiators Reboot Series
WWE reportedly recently signed a partnership deal with MGM for the production of the revival of classic 90s’ competition series American Gladiators, according to Deadline.com.
It was reported that the current plans are for this project to be a reimagined version of the classic series featuring a “slew of WWE wrestling superstars.” It was also reported that both MGM and WWE will be working as co-executive producers for this new project.
It was also reported that this new show is currently being pitched to television networks and other platforms to gauge the level of interest for this new planned series.
American Gladiators originally ran from 1989 to 1996 in syndication and was later revived in 2008 that lasted for two seasons.
FOX Airing King of the Ring Preview Special
FOX reportedly will be airing a WWE King of the Ring special during the weekend of October 1-3 on their network, according to PWInsider.
Mike Johnson reported that this special is titled “King of the Ring Countdown” and will be previewing WWE’s upcoming newest King of the Ring tournament.
Johnson reported that this special will air on different time slots depending on local FOX television markets schedules.
WWE Files Several New Trademarks
WWE recently filed several new trademarks to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
A trademark for “Big Time Becks” was filed on September 13th for wrestling and entertainment-related purposes.
A trademark for “Malik Blade” was filed on September 14th for similar purposes.
A trademark for Vish Kanya was filed on September 20th for similar purposes as well.
Trademarks for “Lashing Out” and “Last Out W/ Lash Legend” were filed on September 21st for similar purposes as well.
